Ryan,
Depends. A month or two ago, Crude was tremendous, now not so much. Do not trade USO due to higher commission structure. Get better return generally on SPX than ES and do not trade currency options.
Generally like to trade with higher volatility to get higher premiums.

Jeff:
Do you find that there is better premium on the commodity options vs the index options?
In my experience, I've found higher premiums and I believe less risk of being ITM at exp. with commodities. Crude, ES mini, currencies.
A couple of comparisons crude CL vs USO
es mini vs SPX
canadian$ vs FXC
b pound vs FXB
On the currencies there is far less margin also. I use optionsxpress and they have a margin calculator built in and I've compared this.
Maybe we aren't talking about the same options, just looking for your thoughts and experiences.
Thanks Ryan

George,
Have done this before, but am happy to do it again.
I sell naked puts and calls on indexes and commodity futures. I aim for a 3% compounded monthly return and have met my objectives for the past 6 months.
I also provided 5 – 6 resources available for free or minimal investment on the Web that utilize this strategy. This is a very simple strategy that does not require a great deal of knowledge about "the Greeks".
I am happy to answer any other questions.
Jeff
