Paul,
There is a growing number of deep discount brokers. The lowest cost firm I know of is IB ( Interactive Brokers) No ticket charge and .75/ contract with a $1.00 minimum. Many folks love them for covered calls as they do not charge for assignments when you are called away. Be aware that there is no hand holding with them. only tech support for help setting and running their platform. I have heard their trader work station is a bit had to learn for the novice.
I am checking out MB Trading now. Perhaps you might want to take a peek at this firm also. They have not finished work on the parts of their platform I will need so I am waiting to see the finished product. They are also very reasonable.
Regards and good trading,
Jack
