Rob,
I am somewhat familiar with what Dan offers. I will have to consider taking one of his seminars in the future.
I have watched his webinars at the CBOE website and I've found them helpful.
Thanks for the advice.

Carmelo,
if you get a chance, you may want to see Dan Sheridan on one of his one-day seminars. I saw him in Chicago at the CBOE and he was wonderful. Dan is a down to earth guy who approaches options as a business. No guesswork, no hoping, and very little left to chance. It's a business and you treat it as such. According to Dan, you don't buy a hot dog stand in Chicago and order a million hot dogs from your supplier and hope that they all sell in a day. You treat it like a business and then you make money. If your goal is to make 20% on an option play, you take your money and start looking for the next opportunity. You don't sit back and hope that the position will make you more. Too many people bet burned by being greedy. If something moves against you, either adjust your position or get the heck out. Don't hope that tomorrow things will go your way again. These are the musings of a real pro. I wish I could take his mentoring course, but unfortunately I'm still a working stiff and can't devote the time it requires to make option trading a full time business. He also demands that you start small for at least 6 months. If you do what he teaches and don't lose money in 6 months, then take it to the next level. It was an enlightening day for me seeing him in person. Turns out we went to the same high school in Chicago!!

> Thank you, Carmelo. Thank you, rvd. I'll take full responsibility for the content of that posting! But, in all seriousness, I was reading a lot of the responses and began feeling very sad. Yes, sad for the circumstances a lot of these people find themselves in, but more sad that they think that THIS options course or THAT option course will make them FREE. Financially free, emotionally free, free of their bosses, free of their jobs, free to become a financial philanthropist. But, come on all of you guys who have been doing this for a long time. It just ain't so. There is no holy grail. There is no magic system. There is just a lot of hard work, hard study, and hard decisions to be made on (sometimes) a split second. And don't forget a healthy dose of plain old luck. This stuff isn't easy, and so many of those postings gave me the feeling that, yea, if I get these DVD's, I'll be set for life. Just give me those disks! Gimme `em. I'll change my ways! I'll teach the world! I'll stop smoking! I'll (fill in the blank). I'm starting to ramble again.
