Traditional advice on employee stock options is pretty limited and will not get your relative very far. Fortunately for them, John Summa, Ph.D., recently wrote one of the first books on how to mange employee stock options that goes beyond the traditional advice.
The book is titled "Getting Started In Employee Stock Options" and should answer some of the questions that your relative may have concerning their VZ options.
