Re: [TheOptionClub.com] Re: Iron Condors ...3 fold question

GIS,

Dan doesn't teach predicting market direction.  Some of his methods allow you to position a trade to benefit from market direction if you have an opinion about that -- but his main focus is on helping his students learn how to think about the markets, how to make consistent monthly income and how to manage risk through adjustments (when needed).  He also talks about things like having your portfolio contain both some slightly vega positive and vega negative positions, depending on what the markets are doing.  Right now he is reminding students to be prepared and to have their plans in place for dealing with the markets if they become more volatile and or take a dip next year.

The November 25, 2009 entry on the Sheridan blog -- http://www.sheridanmentoring.com/blog/ -- has an article from the December issue of "Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities" magazine about one of Dan's students who trades for a living.  It also has his track record for the past 3 1/2 years (41% last year in 2008 when most people lost a lot of money).  You can click at the end of this blog entry to read the entire article:  http://www.sheridanmentoring.com/blog/sheridan-mentoring-news/student-tony-sizemores-article-sizing-up-for-success-in-dec-2009-issue-of-tasc/
