Lots of fat on puts right now. It would appear on selected stocks it would make sense to sell a put if one was going to put in a limit order to buy at that level anyway.

all I can say is, I would not want to be short a put!!!
The risk is way to high. If you want to make your long call cheaper,
sell a higher call against it or maybe even 2.
