Ricky .. looks like you have mastered all Cottle's stuff .. and have concluded that his approach is not suitable for you ... you may have to look elsewhere for a more mathematical / algorithmic holy grail that you seem to be looking for .... I have enjoyed bouncing this around with you ... maybe we can return to the discussion sometime down the road ... cheers, James
