First, It was mentioned to me that there may be a way to automatically import streaming quotes into an excel spreadsheet so that I don't have to enter them manually every day. Does anyone know of this?
Thanks for any inputs you may have.
Next a more complicated hypothetical question. I purchase 100 shares of CLW @49.84, purchase a May50 put for 3.69, sell a May55 CC for 1.42, and sell an Oct40 CSP for 2.61 for a net cost, including commissions of $49.50.
Now, even though CLW made an upward move today, I don't like what I see and decide to sell. So...I buy back the CC for 1.90, sell the May50 put for 2.75 and buy an April 55 put for 4.50.
So I've increased my cost to 53.15 but will assign the new put, selling the stock at 55 for a $1.85 profit which translates to 3+% (also including commissions)
The transaction may or may not be a wise one (there's a lot of work and a lot of commission involved), but my question concerns keeping track of a basic portfolio of roughly 10 stocks with all the option buying and selling and understanding my profit and loss results so I could keep refining the method. I'm using an excel spreadsheet but it's a lot of work! I have another profession and so have limited time. I think I may have asked this before, but does anyone know any software that may help me streamline the process?
Thanks for any advice.
