RE: [TheOptionClub.com] Re: DROID on Verizon Wireless?

Hi Jack.  Yes, you must buy the phone thru BestBuy to get their insurance.  Also, FYI, the Verizon store is having a 2-for-1 sale on the regular Droid, so you can get 2 for $149.99 which is a great deal.  Both the Verizon store and BestBuy have the DroidX for $199, but they are backordered for a couple of weeks due to extreme demand at the launch.

Check out www.yourenew.com to buyback your used electronics (old cell phones).  Or list it on EBay.  Just make sure you disclose there is water damage.  All cell phones have a moisture-sensitive sticker inside the case to signal water damage so they don't pay-out a warranty claim.

You can email Tom Sosnoff, founder of TOS, and ask him if they are working on an Android app.  Tom gladly answers client emails.  tom@thinkorswim.com

The browser and screen clarity are excellent on the DroidX so you may be able to wing it with TOS browser-based trading and zooming the screen as necessary.

Great response. As Jim says, "Someone has done their homework". Thanks to all.

I also will be checking the TOS site for an appt for android.

I see that Nick already has the Droidx. With the better screen and what I hope is a good browser I wonder how well the on-line TOS version would work? When my Droid was working it looked like it would be possible to queue up orders on laptop from home and later execute any previously queued orders as needed?

I had not thought of paying the termination route. I suspect I have the $350 fee since I got a new contract in March 2010. I believe I saw Verizon ads that charge $200 for DroidX with a two year contract. That sounds like a reasonable way to go as I like Verizon service and have heard good things about the DroidX. If TOS comes up with an app the world will be sweet!

Thanks for the info on Best Buy insurance. The $10 per month seems not that bad after going through my phone-loss experience. To get this insurance do I buy the new phone through Best Buy or buy the phone from Verizon and then go to Best Buy?

Now all I need is to find a place that buys and rehab old Droids.

Thanks very much, Jack C
