“Adam”, if that is in fact your real name. (I don’t really care)
It is a small tangent, but I was not rude. I am frustrated because since coming on this list, a list that purports itself to be “open” to all levels of Options traders, every question I ask is met with being completely ignored. I haven’t asked very many questions here, 3 in 8-9 months approx. Reasonable mid-level questions.
The one you site below is out of context, thanks for that. (question came from watching webinars, that I’ve mentioned, that discussed techniques of looking for skews, I believe) The last question about Box spreads is hardly “basic”.
I’m pissed off because this group touts themselves as being so “helpful”. “Look how we spent hundreds of man-hours helping this dumb-ass over here…” And I ask one reasonable question every 2-3 months and can’t get one or 2 sentences back.
Rude? No, I’d say you are rude and unkind. “your research should have uncovered…”
Yeah, well it didn’t. Sue me. That’s what this list is supposedly for. It is obviously misrepresented.
As for my positive comment shortly after I joined, well I was proven wrong, wasn’t I?
Even the moderator is unkind. Quite amusing way to encourage people to sign up (and pay money) for your program.
Maybe you should start “ignoring” the “Paul’s” that eventually show themselves and start paying more attention to the guys like me that are working hard in the background to seriously learn Option trading.
I thought I found a group of like-minded fellows, but it’s proving to be just another list with a small clique of inner circle dudes stroking each other. Weird that you’d let a “Paul” be in that inner circle. (by virtue of posts/responses/
(My apologies to Paul)

I think you're getting off on a tangent and it's counterproductive to be rude. I just searched this group and I see one thread started by you with a question about an unnamed "they" (perhaps you meant option trading advisory services) and I think you're describing mis-priced options. That thread did go without any reply -- I imagine that is in part because it's a well worn question and your research should have uncovered that there is no such thing in the electronic age as a mis-priced option and that any variability in pricing is quickly absorbed by machines, not people running scans.
So I perhaps your other questions arose last year.
In any case, I think you had a lot higher opinion of this group in January, which seems to be when you joined, and I hope you can rediscover why you posted:
"Thanks for all the tremendous help here. This group is an amazing resource."

Yeah, right. Does that explain why whenever I ask a question I get NOTHING? Because I haven’t “studied” enough??
I asked several days ago about a “box” trade that the author stated to close one side and you’d have a Fly. Don’t see how that can happen. I asked why or how and I got NOTHING. Which is what I’ve gotten about 3 times, the only 3 times I asked anything on this list.
Sorry if my questions are “unworthy”.
(Gis – not directed at you. I see you on a couple lists and you actually are one that likes to help)

Louis,
most people here are very open and willing to help.
BUT if the questions continue to indicate that the person is not doing any work and study themselves,
and we feel we are only wasting our valuable and personal time, that can happen.
fwiw, gis
